Review: Mixed Works Sunbird

I think I’ve found my favorite hip pouch of all time. Friends at Mixed Works sent me a few of their hip pouches to test out. This particular one called the Sunbird is right up my alley. It features a traditional fanny pack shape and all the great amenities you would need to carry your essentials.

The Sunbird features a 1000D Cordura outer shell, nylon liner, adjustable hip belt, integrated u-lock holster, large interior compartment w/pocket, YKK zipper, ITW buckles, Military grade nylon webbing and thread.

What separates the Sunbird from others hip pouches I have reviewed in the past? Well, it’s surprisingly lightweight, visually appealing, spacious (with a minimalistic look), and fits perfectly to the contour of your waist. One of my many issues with integrated u-lock holsters is my Kryptonite Evolution Mini never seems to fit… it’s either too loose or too tight, but the Sunbird fits like a glove. Its spacious compartment allows me to carry the entire contents of my tool bag, which is a huge bonus!

Mixed Works has done a superb job in designing what I would call the perfect hip pouch or fanny pack.
