Seagull Bags sent me a
Deluxe Courier Bag to test out. Like the
Standard model, it features the same contoured front flap. Open that flap and you will also find two gracious sized front pockets. Noted in my first Standard Bag
review, "The compression strap system adjusts to all your custom needs. What I thought was really cool is the female plastic buckle on the secondary strap (strap under the armpit) is adjustable... it can slide up or down on the main padded strap for that desired position." This also applies to the Deluxe model. Also, I forgot to mention that there is no presence of a male/female buckle system on the main strap… which makes things more simplistic. Why unbuckle when you can simply pull it over your head!
What truly makes this bag Deluxe is the numerous added features that makes your jaw drop. For one, materials used to make this bag is off the chart! You have 1000 Denier Cordura exterior, 18 oz. vinyl interior, an additional floating 3rd layer made of 500 Denier Cordura, and a fourth layer ballistic bottom… making this bag truly impenetrable! On the exterior of the bag, you will find a nicely placed side pocket that is great for all your grab and go essentials. On the base of the bag you will find three compression straps to adjust your sized loads.
The interior of the bag is just as impressive as the exterior. You will find a large flat inside pocket on the front and an even larger flat inside pocket on the back. The front pocket also has slots to stow away all your vital needs (i.e., pens, maps, iPod, wallet). The back pocket is nicely sized to place your important flat materials or even a small laptop. Lastly, you will find a nicely sized removable tool pouch that also serves as a hip pouch.
After giving this bag a beating for roughly a month now… it has retained its integrity and has proven to be one HELLUVA great bag. Thanks to Seagull Bags for letting me give this baby a test drive. All your hard work is shown in the quality and extraordinary details of ALL your bags.

My biggest regret of the year was not going to the CMWC 2009. Just browsing through all the photos makes me ill. Not only was it the CMWC, but it was in Japan of all places. I should have listened to Satoshi. Fudge-balls!

Thanks Brian from Bike Reviews for sharing this with me.
"The
Bianchi Pista Classic 2010 had many of its spectators salivating at this year’s InterBike. The Bianchi Pista Classic frame, a concept at the moment despite UrbanVelo’s misprint on an article earlier in the year, was “classically” done in a celeste green and complemented with chrome lugs. The Pista Classic frame on display at this year’s InterBike was made complete with after-market parts such as a brownish swede saddle, drop down handlebars, and a white wheel set that matched beautifully with the white bar-tape. There’s still many questions surrounding the Bianchi Pista Classic, which we hope to find answers for in the near term." –

I never knew how much I would fall in love with this hub until I actually held it in my hand. My gawd... it's a beauty! It only took me a nanosecond to decide this was going to be my next hubset. Its super light and built to last As I held the
Chub in one hand... I placed a low-flange Phil Wood track hub in my other. The
Phil Wood weighed 5x more than the Chub... NO SHIT!
Big thanks to Chris from Chub for making me see the light =) This hub is proudly going to Jake Ricker who recently had his
3Rensho stolen (along with my bike)... which was rocking this hub.

"All of your critical bike measurements right in your pocket. Assembling your tri-bike after shipping and forgot your seat height? That information is right in your pocket. Someone stole your Colnago Prince? The description of every single component, along with a picture, is right in your pocket! Have two bikes? Three? Ten? Wow! Even better, grab the bike and the thief! The thief may also lead us to my stolen Pista Concept. A REWARD will be offered!

The
EERO which is made of 6061 Aluminum Alloy will be wider and heavier than the Formation Face to provide strength... and to accommodate wider tires. Like the Formation Face, joints will be welded and smoothed... making the strongest joint possible! 43mm high and priced lower than the Formation Face... oh so looking forward to these!

"When we began our business, there was a lack of online fixed gear shops that catered solely to the needs of fixed gear riders. It was always some previously established bicycle shop that hoped to cash in on the growing popularity by carrying a few items on their storefront. If that wasn't the case, then it'd be some shoddily thrown-together, poorly-coded jumble made with some build-a-site wizard that had better success in sending customers in circles than to the checkout page. We wanted to change that.
We at
Peregrine Cyclery hope to deliver the best customer service and provide you with quality components that you can trust to arrive in a respectable amount of time. If for any reason you find any faults, just let us know and we'll happily remedy the problem and accommodate you to the best of our abilities. If you have any questions, website critiques, or anything you'd like to share, just shoot us an email at info[at]peregrinecyclery.com
Thanks in advance for your support!" – Conan

This is literally the good stuff. Stuff is a word that can mean just about anything, but its first use as a noun was to describe the worsted wool fabrics that medieval knights stuffed under their suits of armor. Nailhead is one of our favorite worsted wools around. Its subtle pinprick pattern gives it an incredible depth of texture, and as a fine suiting fabric it tends to be made from the softest and longest wool fibers available. That makes it one of the best performance fabrics in the world, but you'd never know since it tends to be used in expensive men's suits and nothing but. We snatched these fabrics from our favorite Brooklyn warehouse determined to find a better use for this quality stuff than the upper class ghetto of office armor and take it back to the streets.
Wool sometimes has a bad rep for being itchy, course and overwarm, but that's only because the good stuff always gets snatched up for suiting fabric. The finer wools breathe better than cotton, and wick moisture into the inner core of their actual fibers. This means they cool you in the summer, keep you warm in the winter and always feel drier to the touch than other fabrics, no matter how wet it is outside. It makes for an incredible cap.
The Nailhead Collection uses our classic cycling cap design done with master milliner
Victor Osborne. We line our caps with a bengaline fabric that molds to your head over time, as does our high quality grosgrain banding. Because it's a lined cap, it costs twice as much to make, the lining is essentially a second cap sewn inside the first. But for that added cost you get a cap that should last way more than twice as long, and fit great for all the years you own it. As always we produce our garments in New York City for exceptional quality. –
