DVS is proud to announce the development of its first cycling specific skate shoe. Designed in collaboration with influential cycling brand,
Cadence, the Cadence X DVS Milan CTC has several bike specific performance and durability features that have never been used on a traditional skate shoe.
“From the beginning the goal was to create a cycling functional shoe that you can skate and walk around in all day,” says Cadence Owner Dustin Klein. “The result of our combined efforts is beyond what I had imagined.”
As a new category for DVS, The Milan CTC Cadence (Classic Tribute Cycling) has reflective detailing for nocturnal visibility, a stiffer lasting board that reduces leg fatigue and increases pedal stroke strength, and comes with specially designed patterning on the tongue that protects laces from toe cage damage. The shoe, however, functions equally as well as a skate shoe with all the skate-specific features as standard Milan CT.
Podium Distribution VP Brian Dunlap says developing a product for the cycling category was a very organic process. “I grew up racing BMX and bikes have always been a part of what I do. We wanted to go into the bike market with a shoe that we were 100% happy with. Involving Dustin and Cadence seemed like the most legit way to do it.”
The Milan CTC Cadence will be available at select skate and bike retail stores in May 2010.

Recently, I received a few pairs of
The Eliot by
Macbeth. Already owning a pair of
The Manchester... The Eliot was equally superb! Not to mention both models are part of their VEGAN line! My gawd... riding in them was just bliss. Even with our frigid weather... my feet retained its comfort and warmness. Absolutely the best shoes for my riding pleasures. Goodbye Vans... hello Macbeth!
Much love to
Macbeth, Brendan K., and

Part of the adidas Originals Five-Two 3 collection, this Samba has been re-worked by Japanese artist MADSAKI. MADSAKI grew up in New York City and spent time working as a bike messenger. At the time, the Samba had just launched and was the perfect shoe to wear because of how they fit into the clips of the bike pedals – an obvious choice for the collaboration. In a classic monochrome colourway these have a black snakeskin effect upper with a black leather Velcro lace-flaps and white sole detail. –

As part of the whole package for the recently concluded
adidas “The Complete Ride” project which also featured ourselves, Solebox and Bianchi, an unreleased model featured a special colorway based on Bianchi’s iconic colors. Technically, the shoe is very similar to the
other versions with a suede upper however the 3M stripe around the foxing band has been exchanged for Bianchi colors. Unfortunately at this point in time, there is no slated release for the Bianchi version with only ten or so models in existence.

Developed specifically for the
Nike Sportswear LIVESTRONG Collection, the footwear design team looked at the Nike Tiempo, first launched through the Soccer category, and enhanced the shoe with key elements to work with today’s inner city bike rider. Developed in partnership with eight bike riders from around the globe, the Nike City Tiempo was constructed with a board last, a process referencing ACG’s history. The board last translates into a stiffer construction, making the pushdown of the pedal stroke easier on the rider. Throughout the construction of the shoe, the designers have increased the density of the rubber and the derometer. Inside the shoe, the sockliner has been updated to also be a bit stiffer, giving support to the foot.
The upper of the shoe mirrors the look of the original Tiempo, however has been updated with a tougher leather to last through the wear and tear the cages on the pedals may cause. The City Tiempo pack includes eight colorways inspired by the iconic yellow of LIVESTRONG.
Each color represents a different rider and their respective city. The eight riders include; Kyle Demers from New York City, Jupiter Desphy from Los Angeles, Superted from London, Takaharu “Hal” Okada from Tokyo, Yorgo Tloupas representing Paris, Berlin’s Henrik Kuerschner, Massan from San Francisco, and Lance Armstrong representing his hometown of Austin.
Here we present you the Nike Sportswear Livestrong City Tiempo line-up that you will see release this month, with the following four colorways coming later this summer.

Lately, I've been reluctant to try new shoes, especially after wearing
Vans for the past two decades. So a few days ago, I received a nice package from Veronica at
Vittoria Shoes. She sent me a pair of the
1976 Classic cycling shoes made with Lorica-Microfiber (vegan friendly). And if you didn't know already... the 1976 was created due to the popularity of Fixed Gear bicycles in Europe.
My first impressions, having only seen them in pictures... was how light and minimalist they were. Being MADE IN ITALY... the overall design and construction of the shoe is top notch! With the breathable holes on the upper & side portions of the shoe, you can rest assured that your feet won't get the heat and the stink. And like other SPD cycling shoes... the SPD fitting area can be easily concealed with the supplied cleat covers that sit flush with the contour of the sole.
The contact between the shoes and my MKS Custom Nuevo pedals was solid. I didn't feel the pedals digging into the soles like my Vans usually did. And like any other new shoe that hasn't been broken in... my feet were a little sore at first. But after a few hours of riding... they loosened up and my feet were just fine. The best experience with these shoes was going to my job and not worrying about bringing an extra pair of work shoes. I simply kept them on and did my job with a smile on my face.
The 1976 Classic is just an all-around great cycling shoe for all you Fixed Gear riders. The 1976 comes in several materials of your choice. And with the supplied sizing chart... you won't have to worry about not trying them on first.
Big thanks to Veronica and the team at Vittoria Shoes.

Vittoria Shoes supports the Fixed Gear community! And there taking orders! Thanks for the info Veronica!
“We are an Italian Company producing prefessional 100% MADE IN ITALY CYCLING SHOES since 1976. In Europe now FIXED GEAR BICYCLES are getting very popular so we decided to create a revival of the first professional models produced in the starting years of activity of our company, so that's why the model is called
1976. The model has been interpreted in modern terms by melting together advanced materials as Lorica Micro Fiber and valuabe skins with a past time design which gives to Vittoria 1976 a taste of history. To follow the fashion the range of color is wide, from yellow to red, from violet to brown... the sole is in rubber in order to guarantee confort to all riders.” –
